mmmeeeeeeeehhhhhhh…

I’m sick.  I think it’s allergies.  My brain is all foggy from multiple medications.  I can’t muster up the energy to to serenely work on my Citrus blanket or my garter stitch blanket; all I can do is stare at them (and I wouldn’t want them to get covered in snot, anyway):

I’m also staring at the TV while Chris plays a game, Kleenex in close reach:

Might try to take a nap and sleep this off, but it’s kinda hard to fall asleep when your head feels like a mysteriously heavy balloon (super uncomfortable).

In other news, Chris, Mom and I are making progress with wedding plans.  It’s for realsies like 3 1/2 months away, so it’s way past time to get busy!

Also, coming up on Friday are our yearly staff evaluations at work, and I’m nervous.  The executive director of our organization is going to be there this year, and even though she’s super sweet, it’ll be a bit intimidating; I feel like I’ve worked hard this year and I want my boss and the executive director to think so, too.

As far as the summer goes, last week had temperature highs in the 100s, but this week it’s cooler — the highs are mid 90s.  Is that bad when mid 90s feel cool?  We’ve had lots of strong late afternoon/evening storms, too (typical for summers here):

That’s out our front window.  My car says hi.

Well that’s all for today.  Hopefully I’ll get back to crafting when I’ve stopped being sick.  See you soon (and happy 4th of July)!

  1. No it is not unreasonable to think 90’s are cool. Here in Fayetteville, NC we are having a “cool” spell. And summer allergies are the worst. It is one thing to be sick in the winter and totally different in the summer when you should be outside.

    • I know right! I wish I could go outside more, even though it’s hot, and do traditional summery things like have cookouts and catch fireflies and play with the dog more. Boo, allergies!

  2. I hope you feel better real soon; we have winter down here in South Africa, I am also sick with the typical winter sinus, colds and coughs!

    • Oh no! I hope you’re feeling a bit better. I know meds for those things usually make me pretty groggy (and apparently I stare at people a lot… weird). I hope you’re functioning alright!

  3. So sorry you are not feeling well. It is hard to get crafty when you feel like crap. I hope that it passes soon and you will be feeling great again. Both of your blankets are looking awesome! Love the colors in the garter stitch one. I actually started the Stripey blanket last week. Had to order yarn, and am a bit confused when turning, adding to the next row. So taking a class at my local yarn shop this coming week. My other yarns arrived this last week, so I am anxious to get going on it again. You can see my start on my blog. Not much, but a start 🙂 I hope you feel better soon.

  8. Hope you start feeling better really soon! And don’t feel too bad. I was saying the same thing to my mom tonight about how the 90s would feel cool. We agreed that was a funny statement to be making.
