citrus stripe blanket: begin!

Sometimes it’s hard to stick with just a couple of projects.  The Citrus Stripe Blanket by Susan Carlson was impossible to resist!

I’m using leftover yarn from the clamshell baby blanket (KnitPicks Brava Sport) and have already completed a few stripes:

It’s a great free pattern that’s not too hard, works up quickly, and doesn’t require a ton of yarn.  I’m loving it!

It’s hard to get the colors just right in a photo…

Also, our ceiling and roof are almost completely repaired!  It seems there’s just a bit of cleanup left to do and we’ll have our back room back, thank goodness!

Well, that’s all for today, thanks for stopping by!

  1. Love the stripy blanket! I wonder if that is a stitch that I can do. It looks like a great carry along, or go to quick project. I think I will check it out.

    • You should definitely! It’s a foundation row of single crochet and the rest is a combo of chains and double crochet stitches, so nothing too ridiculous!

      • I am in the process of purchasing some of the brava sport yarns for the Citrus stripe blanket. They are out of white until July, so I may have to wait and place my order then. I am looking forward to starting it, but every time I go for a yarn, I hit a roadblock. Went in search this morning for the Baby Bee yarns. Did find a skein of yellow at a store garage sale. But from what I can tell on-line, it’s not the best yarn and not even sure it is being made anymore. Hobby Lobby on-line only has a couple of colors. I did purchase the Bernat Baby Sport in the Taupe. So I went to your blog to see what yarns you used…so I am on the Knit Picks site now 🙂 I guess I could purchase a skein of Lion Brand baby in white so I can order the rest. Hopefully what little I did know about crochet will come back to me. If not, I know who to contact if I have a question 😉

        • Ugh, I’m sorry the yarn purchasing is so complicated! Sounds aggravating. But definitely asks questions if you have any! I can’t wait to see!

          • I have the Taupe, and the yellow. Ordered 3 other colors and I will pick up the white at Joannes or Michaels this week. Can’t wait to start it and see if I can still crochet or not. I will post on my blog when I get started 🙂 Thanks!
