while you wait…

I know you’re probably eager for news about the giveaway.  Well, there are lots of entrants, which is great!  But right now, I want to share with you a pattern that I came up with yesterday and today.  It’s for a shawl-like neck warmer.  It’s made in the usual triange/half-circle shawl shape, and if you put it on with the point towards the front and wrap the ends around your neck, you can fasten them underneath the point part under your chin with a button, if you like.  I hope you like it!

And if you like, I just put it on Ravelry so you can put it in your favorites or in your queue if you like.

Hope you enjoy!

it’s time, again

It’s to celebrate having so many followers!  Originally it was going to be celebrating 50 followers, but I have 82 now, which is so exciting!

what you get:

First, you get 5 small skeins of different kinds of yarns from KnitPicks.  Personally I like all of them, but the reason I’m sharing these with you is because they are all easy care, and hopefully you’ve never tried them before and can use something new!

Next, you get 3 hooks.  This is what took so long.  I tried to buy 3 Brittany hooks and they were out of 2 of them, so they had to substitute Surina hooks instead.  I think that’s fine, as each of these hooks looks lovely and functional at the same time.  So you get a D hook, an H hook, and a J hook.  I got these sizes because these are the ones I use most often and I hope they will be useful for you!

And finally, you get some really cute buttons!  Some of them are a little small, but they’d be perfect for baby items or something delicate.  There are 21 buttons — you get the exact ones pictured!

So to review, this is what you will get if you win:

how to enter:

  1. Leave a comment on this post to enter.
  2. Share this post, or a link to it, on your own blog.

That’s it!  Unlike my last giveaway, everybody gets 1 entry this time (I don’t want the drawing to be confusing, and I have a feeling I’ll have more than 4 entrants this time).  You have until 6/26/12 to enter, which is a week from today.  After the entering is closed, I will randomly draw a winner, and they will have until the 1st of July to claim their prize.  If it is not claimed, I will re-draw at that time.

Thanks for entering, and good luck!

lots of things

It’s been a while!  A few days, anyway.  I’ve been hoping that my final giveaway items would come in the mail, but they haven’t.  I talked to someone at the company they were shipping from and got it all straightened out, so it shouldn’t be too much longer before the giveaway starts!  I’m sorry for the delay.  It’s annoying to me, too.  In the meantime:

I started another Juliana Wrap, but this one’s not for me.  It’s for my mom!  She wanted cream colors, so I got some from Knitpicks and have gotten this far (which is not very).

I ordered some yarn on tophatter.com, which is my new favorite website for spending money needlessly, and it came in the other day.  I’m excited.  It’s a total of 500 yards of recycled worsted weight yarn (50% wool, 20% viscose, 15% nylon, 10% angora, 5% cashmere).  I don’t know what to make with it yet, I just bought it on a whim.  It’s good that I have it now though because I spent way too much money on that website, and now I must scrounge to get through the next couple of months.  I probably won’t be buying more yarn anytime soon.  That’s OK though, because I have quite the stash!

Well, hopefully my next post will be announcing the beginning of my giveaway.  I hope the items come in tomorrow!  Should be any time now.  See you soon!

it’s been a long time

So I haven’t been very busy lately with my yarny crafts.  Here’s what I’ve got:

My Weasley Sweater is at 20″!  That means I only have 6 more to go before I start the shoulder shaping stuff.  I’m excited.

The last photo is the closest to its true color.  It’s a dark gray, almost black.  There’s no red to it, actually.

So that’s all for now.  Sorry it wasn’t much.  I’ve been really lazy and doing summer school stuff, as well.

drawing early!

Since I have only gotten four entries to my book giveaway, I have decided to draw the winner early instead of leaving the drawing open when there are few people interested.  That way we can move on to the next giveaway.

Congratulations Laura from cute as a button!

I drew your name, so you win the book!  I really hope you love it as much as I do.

The next giveaway will  start soon, and it involves yarn, so you crocheters and knitters keep on the lookout!
