epic fail on my end, sorry guys

A couple months back I promised that today I’d have free Harry Potter house scarf patterns for you all, since today is Harry’s birthday (happy birthday, Harry!), but I haven’t finished the scarves.  I’m still on the first one, in fact:

I do apologize.  I’ll let you know when they’re up but to be honest they’ve kinda fallen on the back burner for the time being… I’ve got a big crochet project coming up, I just started a fancy lace knitted scarf, I’m trying to plan a wedding with my fiance and my mom, I’m trying to do more at work, and I’m doing supervision hours for my official SC counseling licensure, not to mention trying to still fit in a good amount of quality time with Chris.

In the mean time I do still have the crochet versions of both scarves from the HP films available for free here, if you’d like to check those out!

Again, my apologies.  I’ll get them up ASAP and give updates occasionally if it’s going to take a while.  Thanks for stopping by, and happy Harry’s birthday!

knitting and flowers

I finished my first knitted scarf last week!  I’m so excited about it.  I got some new yarn actually and I started knitting another one:

I’m super excited about it, and I love the colors!  I’m starting to like knitting more and more because it takes so much more time than crocheting, and while at first that was a disadvantage, I’m liking it now because it’s saving me money on yarn!  I was buying so much more yarn crocheting because I’d whiz through projects in an hour and a half and would have nothing left to work on!  Not that I will ever like crochet any less than I do now — I’m just liking knitting more and more.

As an aside, my boyfriend was really great to me this week: he brought me flowers and chocolate at work for no reason at all!  He’s such a sweetie!

Harry Potter scarves

Yes, I am a complete nerd.  I made these Gryffindor scarves for HP book and movie releases.  The one on the left is the style they had in movies 3+, and the one on the right is the style they had in the first 2.  Easily made if you know how to change colors and make rectangles, instructions for both of which are on this site right here!
