previous knits

I’m a beginning knitter, and it shows in my projects.  That doesn’t mean that I don’t want to share them with you, though.  Here are some of the knitting projects that I previously posted on my crochet blog.

That’s me in my very first knitted hat and scarf pair.  Very basic for my first try.

My next hat, made of a fun yarn but still a simple pattern.  I was still getting used to knitting.

This bigger/slouchy hat was made from this pattern on Ravelry (a site I just can’t get enough of).  I gave it away to a buddy but I might make another someday.

So those are my finished projects!  Next post will be my WIPs, which I have a few of.  We’ll see!  Thanks for stopping by!

it’s a wrap!

I’m finished with the wrap/shawl!  The pattern is here if you want to check it out.  It wasn’t too hard, it just took a lot of time because it calls for fingering weight yarn.  So here’s the finished product:

Yay!  I like it a lot.  The yarn also did cool things as I was unraveling it, so I took a picture:

It’s like a flower!  Ok, I know this post was short but I’m on a caffeine high and I want to go fingerpaint with my boyfriend and have childlike fun.  See you later!

slow going during finals week

First off, thanks to everyone who responded to my last post about color palettes!  I was glad to hear from you all!

Secondly, I must tell you that I have not been very focused on crafting this past week, because it’s finals time!  While I don’t have any actual finals, my graduate classes have piled on the projects and papers, so I’ve been busy.

Even so, I’ve got some bits of progress to share with you.  Firstly, my blanket (pattern here) is coming along.  Like I said in a previous post, it is kind of tough on the hands, so I’ve been spacing it out.

It was hard to get a good shot of the whole thing laid out so I just folded it and hoped you could still see how it’s progressed.

And secondly, I’ve been working on this scarf for what seems like ages already.  It’s knitted, as you can see.

So that’s all I’ve got for now!  Hopefully I’ll see you soon with lots more progress!  I have a couple of weeks off of school before I start summer school, so I’ll hopefully have some time to craft to my hearts content.

sweater progress

As a break for my fingers from the killer blanket in progress, I started the sweater that everyone suggested after my last post.

But so far I’ve just got this:

It’s the back panel and the front 2 panels sewn together.  Now I’ve just got the sleeves and the collar/rest of the bodice.  I’m regretting using the Lion Brand Fisherman’s Wool simply because the tweedy look hides the pretty shells and little lacy panels.

It fits though (so far), so hopefully it will look really awesome when I’m done.  We’ll see.  If it doesn’t, I’ll make another sweater!  It’s coming along so fast that I figure I’ll have enough time to do something else before Christmas…

and we’re off!

It’s nice and rainy here, so I’ll be working more this evening, but here’s what I’ve got so far:

The red row has those holes at the bottom where the chain was stretched out, but I hope that will be minimized when I put a border on the blanket and even out the chain stitches a bit.

I’m off to hook some more!  I think I’ll take this to class tonight…
