I made this tonight out of crochet thread size 10, a 1/B hook, and a bangle that I got in a set in the Wal-Mart jewelry section. Cheap, pretty, AND homemade, these would be great gifts! This one was started out as a granny square, then turned into a circle. Both the square and the circle patterns are on this site, so you can make these yourself! I’m gonna make some more — they’re so pretty!
I made this in a couple of days for a girl at school — she wanted something to give to her new nephew for Christmas! It’s a little narrow — she wants me to make another one for her niece so I’ll probably add more height to the next one. In case you can’t tell, it says Noah. 🙂
So I finished that scarf I was knitting, and I made a hat out of the same yarn! This is my first knitted hat, and my first time knitting in the round with a circular needle and double pointed needles, so the top part where I was decreasing doesn’t look as good as the rest. My ribbed stitch could also use some work — it’s very loose. That’s ok though, I’m proud of my first attempt at knitting a hat!
I finished my first knitted scarf last week! I’m so excited about it. I got some new yarn actually and I started knitting another one:
I’m super excited about it, and I love the colors! I’m starting to like knitting more and more because it takes so much more time than crocheting, and while at first that was a disadvantage, I’m liking it now because it’s saving me money on yarn! I was buying so much more yarn crocheting because I’d whiz through projects in an hour and a half and would have nothing left to work on! Not that I will ever like crochet any less than I do now — I’m just liking knitting more and more.
As an aside, my boyfriend was really great to me this week: he brought me flowers and chocolate at work for no reason at all! He’s such a sweetie!
This is my second try with the crocodile stitch hat pattern, found here. This one was much faster than my first one, probably due to the fact that I actually used worsted yarn like the pattern calls for.
Changes to the pattern that I made include: using an H hook instead of G, chaining 2 instead of 1 between the dcs in the non-decrease set up rounds. I also added an extra round of dc at the very end because the hole at the top of the hat was too big, but it totally looks fine and I just sewed it up!
I’ll try to write out a modified version of the pattern to post on this site for easier (and hopefully more understandable) access, so look for it soon!
