2017 isn’t starting off great for me. I’ve been sick since Friday and this morning it was raining & on my first day back to work (bleh) I discovered that water was leaking through the ceiling light fixture near the rearview mirror into my car. I’m making steps to try and be happier in general though, so I’ll update on those if any come through for me.
Anyway, this shawl was blocked and finished in 2016 but I didn’t add it into my gallery of 2016 projects because I didn’t think it was complete! Turns out it totally was. I just needed to take pictures, that was the only thing left. I guess I’ll count it as a 2017 project.
This is the Victoria Shawl by Sandra Paul (hey that rhymes!). I used 818 yds of Knit Picks Stroll Tonal in Seashell (75% merino, 25% nylon/polyamide), which was less than 2 skeins.
I think I’ll give this to someone for Christmas NEXT year. BAM, who’s got two thumbs and is already started on Christmas presents for next year? This girl!
I also have a scarf and like 5 hats that I can gift as well. I’m well on my way already!
I’m also well on my way to having my Olympia Cowl blocked and as soon as it dries and I get photos, you get the pattern!
I didn’t purposefully stretch out the ribs so much, it just kinda naturally happened. We’ll see what it looks like when it’s dry and I pull out the pins!
Also for Christmas my awesome in-laws got me the Ikea cart I’ve been wanting (thank you so much guys!!!), and it is now the cart I am using to keep important stuff away from puppies and off the coffee table (which was embarrassingly cluttered):
And yes, my computer’s at the bottom, but the puppy couldn’t easily get at it. Here’s what’s on the top shelf:
3 WIPs, my crochet hooks & notions bags, and a mug and a cup which I have declared exclusively mine so that neither my husband nor his friends will use them and then not wash them. I am guaranteed to have clean cups. That’s a big deal, ya’ll. Maybe if I move my computer I could put my electric kettle and my tins of tea on the cart for convenient soothing beverages.
Ok that’s all for me guys, thanks for stopping by, see you soon!
love your work what is the mauve / purple wip it looks interesting

Love, love the Victoria Shawl!! I am on my way to adding that one to my Ravelry library! I loved it in Gray on Sandra’s blog, but I really love it in the pink! And it looks so pretty on you. Can’t wait to see your Cowl off the pins! It looks gorgeous already. And the Ikea cart has been on my wish list for a while now. You are one lucky gal!
