This crochet pattern worked up pretty quickly, despite using Cascade Yarns Alpaca Lace Paints (colorway 9989) and an E hook. The pattern costs but is worth it. It’s blocking now:
I’ll measure the wingspan once it’s unpinned from the blocking foam and I’ll post pictures wearing it, but in the meantime here are some closeups:
I’ll try to update soon, especially since I’ve got lots of projects going, but the wedding planning is really picking up steam and so I’m not sure how often I’ll be able to post between now and then. Hopefully a regular amount!
Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you! It’s definitely worth the purchase price for the pattern — this is the second one I’ve made!

Thanks! One good thing about this shawl is that it looks a lot fancier than it is — once you get past the first few rows you don’t have to read the pattern anymore and it doesn’t use any crazy stitches!

Thank you! I was a little worried when I started making it in lace instead of sock weight yarn but I love how it turned out!

It’s absolutely gorgeous! I can’t imagine working with such precision, and the tiny yarn any more. At one time I did, but now my eyes would hate me forever if I tried to do this to them. I’ve never used lace, but have used sock weight

Thank you! It did take a lot of eye squinting and I had to re-do a few uneven patches because I’m not used to working with lace yarn either. Even though it’s close to sock weight yarn it seems so much thinner! Definitely not my choice for every project. 🙂

Thanks! The tiny stitches were a bit of a strain on the eyes but I love it and can’t wait to wear it!
