I’m knitting a scarf!

Look!  I’m knitting!  Thanks to my friend Lauren for letting me borrow the right size knitting needles, and thanks to my boyfriend for buying me the yarn!  It’s LionBrand Homespun, which I love.  This scarf is using the knit stitch only — no purling here.

stockinette stitch

Here’s my first stockinette stitch swatch.  I didn’t finish a purling swatch because I ended up skipping a stitch and just took the whole thing out.  I think I might try a scarf with the stockinette stitch — I’d try ribbing but my ribbing swatch didn’t look good (and I dropped lots of stitches).

my first whack at knitting

So I tried to knit last night, and this is what I got!  I skipped a couple of stitches in there and it’s sort of misshapen, but for a first try I’m pretty pleased!  I think I’ll try purling tonight.

knitpro 2.0

So there’s a pretty neat (and free) online program that lets you upload any photo and turn it into a crochet (or knitting) pattern for an afghan/blanket!  It’s called KnitPro 2.0, and it can be used for sc projects (one block = one sc) or even dc filet crochet projects if you upload a two-tone photo (one block = 3 sts)!  Pretty cool for a free thing.  The link to it is in my sidebar as well so you can always find it on this site!

made a pair!

I finished my first pair of socks!  I’m so proud of them — they fit and they’re gonna be so warm when winter comes!
