I made this pattern myself out of some yarn I didn’t know what to do with.  It’s like a very small shawl that, when put on backwards and wrapped around, looks like this.  It’s a lovely neck warmer.  The two ends can attach with a button underneath your chin and under the “bib” to keep it in place, if you like.

You need an H (5.00mm) hook and 500 yards of worsted weight yarn.  If you don’t want a tiny shawl, up your hook and yarn sizes to achieve something more to your liking.

how to do it:

ch13
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across (12 scs)
Row 2: ch 1, turn. sc 2 in first st, sc across, sc twice in last st
Row 3: ch 1, turn. sc in each stitch across
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until there are 66 rows
Row 67: ch1, do not turn. sc along edge of work placing a stitch at the end of each row and along the 12 sts at the bottom of the triangle and back up the other side
Row 68: ch1, turn. sc 2 in first st, sc across, sc twice in last st
Repeat rows 67-68 3 more times, until ther are 8 rows of sc along the edge of your work
Row 75: ch2, turn. dc in each st across
Row 76: ch2, turn. dc 2 in first st, dc in next 68 sts, dc 2 in next st, dc 12, dc 2 in next st, dc in next 68 sts, dc 2 in last st
Row 77: ch3, turn. treble crochet in each st across
Row 78: ch3, turn. tr 2 in first st, tr in next 67 sts, tr 2 in next st, tr 18, tr 2 in next st, tr in next 67, tr 2 in last st
Row 79: ch1, turn. sc 2 in each st across
Row 80: ch1, turn. sc across
Row 81: ch2, turn. dc 2 in first st, dc in each st across, dc 2 in last st
Row 82: ch2, turn. dc in each st across. Fasten off and weave in ends.

If you have more yarn, you can do two more rows of tr.  I just ran out of yarn.

If you like, to finish off you can put a button on one corner to secure the two ends under your chin, underneath the “point” of the triangle.
