I’m still holding to my resolution not to buy yarn, but I said nothing about not buying a decent place to put my stash! Craigslist has always been my friend for affordable furniture, and it did not fail me here. Out with the plastic bags that collected dust, out with the flimsy plastic stacks of drawers (although the drawers themselves were recycled here), and in with my new mirrored armoire!
Yarn is mostly organized by brand or specific line in a brand. Blocking materials and all my needles and hooks are in the drawers.
This is a HUGE improvement on what I had before and it also opens up the bottom of a hutch and an entire desk that had been holding yarn for other storage. Even though another large piece of furniture makes our house seem a little tighter, it’s much neater and that makes me feel much better.

Nice cupboard! I stash my yarn in hanging organizer cubes in the closet. They are a bit overloaded though and sorta hanging too heavy. I’m always trying to find better storage for all my crafty goodness.

Awesome piece of furniture for your yarn! What a great find. It does make us feel better when our craft things are organized nice and neat! I have a little piece of furniture in my dining room with little cubby holes that holds some of my yarn. Though most of my yarn is out in the garage in bins. One of my goals this year is to downsize my yarn stash. I have lots of scarf yarn, so I will be making lots of scarves this year. Then I can bring in some of the yarn that I haven’t seen for a while 🙂

Oh, I have lots of yarn! A few years ago, when my son’s cub scout pack had a garage sale, I donated tons and tons of yarn. Really slimmed down my stash. Though I still have several bins full in the garage. Plus stash around my house. I used to knit a lot, but have gotten away from it other than scarves. But I have lots of sweater projects in those bins outside. Just have to get to them 😉
